Malus 'Gorgeous' is a small compact crab apple tree with a bushy growth habit. In spring, the branches burst to life with pink and white fragrant apple blossom. 'Gorgeous' is a popular tree to attract more pollinators to the garden and is a fantastic pollinators for other apple trees.
In late summer the tree will starts to produce large crops of miniature pink crab apples that last from autumn right through to the winter. They can be eaten fresh but are quite sour so preferred for making a delicious yet tangy pink crab apple jelly.
The fruits can also be left on the branches for a delightful winter display and food for local wildlife. The pink fruits complement the blaze of autumn colours as the foliage turns from green to a bronzed yellow before falling for winter.
