Betula pendula Fastigiata Joes has a very narrow and neat pyramidal growing habit, quite different to most other Birch. This variety is perfect for small spaces and also looks magnificent when planted in lines along an avenue or driveway. Small, attractive green leaves appear in the spring alongside the yellow catkins. Bark will turn a striking white after 4-5 years with pretty twisting branches. Great autumn colours of yellow and orange!
Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations.
